Iona is a small town just minutes northeast of Idaho Falls, settled by pioneers back in 1883 and officially incorporated in 1905. Even as our community has grown, Iona has held onto the small-town spirit that's always defined it — tree-lined streets, a close-knit population, and a genuine sense that neighbors look out for each other.
That same spirit is what drives our Sports & Recreation Department. Youth athletics have long been part of Iona's story, and today we carry that tradition forward with baseball, softball, basketball, and flag football programs built around one simple idea: kids grow up better when they get to play, compete, and belong to a team right here at home.
Our leagues are run by the community, for the community. We keep registration simple, coaching approachable, and focus on fun — because in a town this size, the kid on the mound today might be the one cheering you on at Iona Days next summer. Whether your family has been here for generations or you just moved to town, there's a place for your child on one of our teams.
